An oxidising agent `KH(IO_(3))_(2)`in presence of 4.0(N) HCI gives ICI as a product .Determine the equivalnet weight of `KH(IO_(3)_(2)`.[K=39,I=12]

According to the question ,`KHoverset(+5)((I)O_(3))_(2)tooverset(+1)(I)CI`: In the reaction the change in oxidation number of each I-atom =+5-(+1)=4 unit.
So, for two I-atoms present in1 molecule of `KH (IO_(3))_(2)`, the total change in oxidation number =2xx4=8 unit.
So, in acid medium ,the equivalent weight of `KH(IO_(3))_(2)`
`("Molecular weight "of KH(IO_(3))_(2))/("Total change in oxidation number")=(390)/(8)=48.75`
