Two blocks A and B are standing side-by-...

Two blocks A and B are standing side-by-side touching each other, on a smooth horizontal table. Masses of the blocks are 3 kg and 2 kg respectively. Block A is pushed towards block B with 10 N horizontal force.
How much force does block A apply on block B.

Text Solution

Let force applied on B by A is `F_(A)` N.
Here, acceleration of the system due to force 10 N = acceleration of B due to force `F_(A)`.
So, `(10)/(3 + 2) = (F_(A))/(2) " " therefore F_(A) = 4` N
