Can kinetic energy of a body be negative ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A body of mass m moving with a velocity v has kinetic energy `1/2 mv^2` . M cannot be negative, and `v^2` being the square of a real quantity , cannot also be negative. Hence, kinetic energy of a body cannot be negative.
