What is the percentage increase in the momentum of a body when its kinetic energy inreases by 69 % ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Kinetic energy , `K=(p^2)/(2m)`, where p = momentum .
`therefore (K_1)/(K_2)=(p_1^2)/(p_2^2) or, (p_2)/(p_1) sqrt((K_2)/(K_1))= sqrt((100+69)/(100))=(13)/(10)=(130)/(100)`
`therefore` Increase in momentum = 30%.
