Two bodies of different masses have equal kinetic energies . Which will have more momentum ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Momentum, `p=mv=sqrt(m^2v^2)=sqrt(2m*1/2mv^2)`
`=sqrt(2mE)` [where E=kinetic energy]
For the two bodies E is the same. So the momentum will be greater for the heavier body , as m is greater.
