If the moment of inertia of a solid sphere of mass M and radius R is `(2)/(5) MR^(2)`, what will be the radius of gyration?.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If k is the radius of gyration , then moment of inertia = `M k^(2)`
Here, `Mk^(2) = (2)/(3) MR^(2) " " or, k = R sqrt((2)/(5))`
