What will be the feeling of an astronaut inside a satellite about his weight when the satellite is in the process of being launched by a rocket?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Velocity of the satellite is increased rapidly with the help of the rocket as the satellite is launched from the earth.s surface. Upward acceleration of the satellite sometimes increases up to 15 times the value of the acceleration due to gravity. If the mass of the astronaut= m , upward reaction of the plane of the satellite on the astronaut =R and acceleration of the satellite a=15g,
then R-mg=ma=`m* 15g` or, R= 16mg
This is the apparent weight of the astronaut . He feels 16 times heavier than his actual weight.

If the initial temperature of the air inside the tyre is 27^(@)C , what will be the decrease in temperature of air due to the bursting of tyre? for air, gamma = 1.4 .

Asha's uncle was advised by his doctor to have an MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) scan of his brain. Her uncle felt that it was too expensive and wanted to postpone it. When Asha learnt about this, she took the help of her family and when she approached the4 doctor, he also offered a substantial discount. She thus convinced her uncle to undergo the rest to enable the doctor to know the condition of his brain. the reusling information greatly helped his doctor to treat him properly. Based on the above paragraph, answer the following questions. What in view could be the reason for MRI test to be expensive ?
