Why is the span of a year smaller for a planet closer to the sun ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

As per Kepler.s law
`("time period of revolution")^2 prop ("radius of the orbit")^3`
Radius of the orbit for a planet closer to the sun is smaller.
Hence, the time period, i.e., the span of a year is also smaller.
