A man on earth can jump to a maximum height of 2m. To what maximum height the man will be able to jump to another planet whose density is `1/3` of the density of earth and radius is `1/4` of the radius of earth ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In case of earth `g=4/3 piGRrho`
In case of the other planet ,`g^.=4/3 piGR^.rho^.`
`therefore g/(g^.)=R/(R^.)*(rho)/(rho^.)=R/(R//4)*(rho)/(rho//3)=12`
In the man jumps with highest initial velocity u in both the case, `u^2=2gh=2g^.h6.`
i.e .,`h^.=g/(g^.)h=12xx2=24m`
