The correct Answer is:
D

Let, at height h from the surface of the earth the gravitation potential and the value of g are respectively equal to the given values.
`therefore V_h=-(GM)/(R+h)=-5.4xx10^7J*kg^(-1)`
`g_h=(GM)/((R+h)^2)=6 m*s^(-2)`
`therefore (V_h)/(g_h)=((R+h)^2)/(R+h)=R+h=(5.4xx10^7)/(6)=0.9xx10^7`
`therefore h=(0.9xx10^7-R)=(0.9xx10^7-6400xx10^3) =2.6xx10^6m=2600 km`
