A block of mass 2 Kg is placed on a horizontal road . Coefficient of friction bwetween the block and the road is 0.2 if 6 N force acts on the block horizontally find the distance travelled by the in first second .
`[ " Take " = g10 m* s^(-2) ]`

Text Solution

Weight of the block `= 2xx 10 = 20 N`
= normal reaction (N )
`therefore ` frictional force `f= mu N = 0.2 xx20 = 4N `
`therefore ` the net force in the horizontal direction
`F =6-4 =2N`
horizontal acceleration , `a = (F ) /(m ) = (2)/(2) = 1m.s ^(-2)`
` therefore ` the distance travelled in the first second ,
`S = u t +(1)/(2) at^(2) = 0xx1 +(1)/(2 ) xx 1 + (1)/(2) xx1 xx1 ^(2) = 0.5 m `
