At a place air pressure is 75 cmHg and temperature is `27^@C`. At another place, the respective values are 70 cmHg and `17^@C`. Compare the densities of air in the two places.

We have, `p_1/(p_1T_1)=p_2/(p_2T_2)`
Given `p_1=75 cmHg, T_1=273 +27 =300 K` ,
`p_2=70 cmHg`
and `T_2=273+17=290 K`
`therefore75/(p_1times300)=70/(p_2times290)or,p_1/p_2=(75times290)/(300times70)=29/28`
`thereforep_1:p_2=29:28`.
