In a process on an ideal gas, `dW = 0 and dQ < 0`. Show that the temperature of the gas will fall.

From the first law of the thermodynamics,
`dQ = dU + dW = dU + 0 = dU`
As `dQ < 0`, we have `dU < 0`, i.e., the internal energy would decrease.
The temperature of an ideal gas decreases with decrease in internal energy. So the temperature will fall.
