When the tyre of a bicycle or motor car bursts suddenly, cool air comes out from the tube. Explain why.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When a tube bursts, the air in it expands very rapidly. A very rapid process is essentially an adiabatic process. We know that the temperature of the gas falls in such and adiabatic expansion. So, cool air comes out from a burst tube.
