Find out the energy of 1 mol of a gas and its average molecular kinetic energy at `27^@C`. Given, `R=8.3 times 10^7 erg.mol^-1.K^-1` and `N_A=6.02 times 10^23 mol^-1`.

Text Solution

Energy of 1 mol of the gas is
`E=3/2RT=3/2times(8.3times10^7)times300[T=27^@C=300k`]
`=3.735 times 10^10 erg`
Average molecular kinetic energy is
`e=3/2KT=3/2R/N_AT=3/2times((8.3times10^7)times300)/(6.02 times10^23)`
`=6.2 times10^-14 erg`.
