Can simple pendulum experiment be performed inside a satellite?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

All objects are weightless inside an artifical satellite. Hence, the effective value of the acceleration due to gravity is zero.
But the working principle of a simple pendulum depends upon gravity.
Therefore, simple pendulum experiment cannot be performed inside a satellite.
