`y(t)=(sinomegat-cosomegat)` represents simple harmonic motion, determine the period of SHM.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`y(t)=sinomegat-cosomegat`
= `sqrt2(1/sqrt2sinomegat-1/sqrt2cosomegat)`
= `sqrt2(sinomegat"cos"pi/4-cosomegat"sin"pi/4)=sqrt2sin(omegat-pi/4)`
It is an equation of SHM. Where angular frequency is `omega` and time period `T=(2pi)/omega`.
