Mixutre of salt and water is a solution while that of oil and water is not .Explain.

Solution is a homogeneous mixture of two or more componets. Salt in water is homogeneous and therefore it is a solution. Whereas oil in water is heterogeneous or immiscible mixture and so is not a solution.
