Specific conductance of 1 M KNO(3) solut...

Specific conductance of 1 M `KNO_(3)` solution is observed to be `5.55 times 10^(-3)` mho `cm^(-1)`. What is the equivalent conductance of `KNO_(3)` when one litre of the solution is used?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given :
Specific conductance = K = `5.55 times 10^(-3) " mho " cm^(-1)`
Concentration C = 1M
Volume = 1 litre
Formula : Equivalent conductance = `K times V`
`" "=(kappa times 1000)/C`
Solution :
`(5.55 times 10^(-3) times 1000)/1=5.55 times 10^(-3) times 10^(-3)`
Equivalent conductance = `5.55" mho "cm^(2)" g "eq^(-1)`
