In sucrose, `C_(1)` of `alpha`- D-glucose is jioned to `C_(2)` of -D-fructose. The glycosidic bond thus formed is called `alpha`-1,2 glycosidic bond , Since, the both the carbonyl carbons (reducin groups) are invoved in the glycosidic bonding . Sucrose is a nonreducing sugar.
