ELISA is a technique based on the principles of antigen- antibody reactions. Can this technique be used in the molecular diagosis of a genetic disorder such as Phenylketonuria?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

NO. ELISA is based only on antigen/ antibody reaction. Polymerase chain reaction technique analyses DNA. Therefore it is ideal to diagnose a genetic disorder such as phenyl ketonuria using PCR.
