An oragne dye .Henna . is obtained from the leaves and young shots of Lawsonia inermis, The principal colouring matter of leaves .lacosome.. is harmless andcauses no irritation to the skin. This dye has lonf been used for colouring laether, for the taiks of horses and in hair- dyes.
