In Jack fruit the inflorescence axis produces above the fruit surface.

Explanation

Jack fruit is a multiple fruit. All the flowers of the inflorescence develop in to a big large fruit and the inflorescence axis remains inside the fruit. The tip of the axis protrudes above the surface. In other inflorescence the individual flower of the inflorescence develops into a fruit and the axis is seen clearly holding the fruits.
