State the thermal effect of electricity

Verified by Experts

When current is passed through a conductor it gets heated up. It is called thermal effect.
If heat produced are H joules, then
`Hprop` potential difference (V)
`Hprop` current flowing
`Hprop` duration (time) the current flows.
`HpropVIt` or VIt
Taking k=1, v=1 volt, I=1A and t=1 second,
H=VIt
Applying ohm.s law (V=IR)`impliesH=VIt=I^2RT=V^2t//R`
H=`I^2RT` is also known as joule.s law of heating
