Autogamy :
`cdot` Self pollination in which there is transfer of pollen grains from the anthers to the stigma of the same flower.
Devices in flowering plants to prevent autogamy :
`cdot` Release of pollen grains before the stigma becomes receptive or stigma becoming receptive much before the release of pollen grains.
`cdot` Placement of anthers and stigma at different positions so that pollen cannot come in contact with the stigma of the same flower.
`cdot` Self incompatibility - Genetic mechanism which inhibits the germination of pollen grain or growth of the pollen tube inside the style, thus preventing the ferilization process.
`cdot` Unisexuality - Production of unisexual flowers ( male and female flowers on different plants or on the same plant )
