(a) `CO_(2)` , methane, `CFOs & `N_(2)O` are known as green house gases. They are responsible for the greenhouse effect.
(b) Catalytic converter is fitted into automobiles for reducing emission of poisonous gases.
(c) UV-B damages DNA and mutation may occur. It cases aging of skin, damage to skin cells, skin cancers and snow blindness.
(d) Ozone layer acts as a shield and absorbs ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
(e) It is a device used to remove particulate matter in the exhaust from a thermal power plant.
