(a) Ans. (a) Pollen grains is regarded as the first cell of the male gametophyte generation.
(b) Pollen grain is haploid, unicellular, uninucleate, spherical shaped body measuring about 25-50 Min diameter.
(c) It has a prominent two layered cell wall consisting of outer hard layer called as exine made up of sporopollenin and inner wall called as intine, which is thin and made up of cellulose and pectin.
(d) In the extine prominent apertures called germ pores are present.
