Name the principal ore of aluminium. Explain the significance of leaching in the extraction of aluminium.

Bauxite is the main ore of aluminium. If is con centrated by leaching. This method removes the impurities of `SiO_(2), Fe_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2)` etc from the bauxite ore by various chemical reactions stepwise either in the precipitate form or in soluble form.
