A bus decreases its speed from 80 km/h to 60 km/h in 5s. Find the acceleration of the bus.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Initial speed of the bus u= 80 km/h
`80 xx 5//18 = 22.2 m//s`
`=60 xx 5//18 = 16.6 m//s`
Final speed of the bus, v= 60 km/h
Time taken to decrease the speed, t= 5s
Acceleration, `a= (V-u)/(t)`
`=(16.6 -22.2)/(5) = -1.112 m//s^(2)`
