Why are carbon and its compounds used as fuels for most applications?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Carbon and its compounds give large amount of heat on combustion due to high pecentag of carbon and hydrogen .Carbon compounds used as fuel have optimum ignition temprature with high calorific value and are easy to handle.Their combustion can be controlled. Therefore carbon and its compounds are used as fuel.
