On what principle an electric motor works? Define the rule used to identify the direction of force on the conductor in an electric motor.

The principle of an electric motor is used on the fact that current carrying conductor produces a magnetic field around is current carrying conductor placed perpendicular lo magnetic field experiences a force.
Flemings left hand rule used is to determine direction.
The commercial motors use
i) An electromagnet in place of permanent magnet.
ii) Large number of turns of the conducting wire in the current carrying coil.
iii) The soft iron core, on which the coil is wound plus the coils is called armature
