The positive, sign means image formed by a plane mirror is virtual and erect since the magnification is 1. It means that the size of the image is equal to the size of the object. Focal length of convex mirror, f=+15cm. Object distance, u = -10 cm According to the mirror formula
` rArr 1/v = 1/f - 1/u`
` rArr 1/v = (2 + 3)/(30)`
` rArr 1/v = 5/30`
` rArr 6cm `
Magnification ` = - v/u = (-6)/(-10) = 0.6`
The image is located at the distance 6 cm from the mirror on the other side of the mirror. The positive sign and value less than 1 of the magnification indicates that the image formed virtual and erect and diminished.
