Mr Kalyan and his wife Mrs Ahalya use different two- wheelers. The quantity of petrol they use in liters is in proportion to the ratio of the number of kilometers they travel in a month. Mr kalyan uses 24 L of pertrol and he travels a distance of 1200 km. if Mrs Ahalya travls 800 km, then find the number of liters of petrol that she uses in a month.

The quantity of pertrol used by Kalyan and his wife Ahalya are 24 L and x L, respectively,
Distances traveled by them are 1200 km and 800 km, respectively,
` Rightarrow 24 :x : : 1200 : 800`
` 24/x = 1200/800 Rightarrow 24/x = 3/2 , x = 24 xx 2/3 Rightarrow x=16 `
Petrol used by Mrs Ahalya is 16 L.
