Find the equivalent capacitance of each of the two combinations between A and B shown in the figures (a) and (b)

(a) Here `C_(1) = C `
`C_(2) = C `
`C_(3)=C`
`C_(4)=C`
So `(C_(1))/(C_(2))=(C_(3))/(C_(4))`=1
Hence `C_(eq)=( C)/(2)+( C)/(2) =C`
(b) The combination of figure ( b) is equivalent to the combination given in figure ( c)

Here `C_(1)=C_(2)=C`
`C_(3)=C_(4)=(C)/(2)`
`:. (C_(1))/(C_(2))=(C_(3))/(C_(4))`
Hence `C_(eq)=(C)/(2)+(C)/(4)=(3C)/(4) `
