Comment on the catenation capacity of sulphur.

Catenation ability of sulphur is highest among chalcogens. Sulphur is next to carbon in the tendency to catenate. Catenation ability of sulphur is observed in polysulphides and polythionic acids. Among M-M bonds of chalcogens, S-S bond is stronger and hence higher catenation ability.
