In a factory Machine-I produces 45% of the output and Machine -II 55% of the outuput. On the average 10% items produced by I and 5% of the items produced by II are deffective. An item is drawn at random from a day's output. (i) find the probability that it is a defective item (ii) if it id defective, what is the probability that it was produced by Machine-II ?

A factory has two machines and Il Machine produces 40% of items of the output and Machine Il produces 60% of the items. Further 4% of items produced by Machine are defective and 5% produced by Machine Il are defective. An item is drawn at random. If the drawn item is defective, find the probability that it was produced by Machine II. (See the previous example, compare the questions)

A factory has two machines A and B. Machine A produces 40% of items of the output and Machine B produces 60% of the items. Further 4% of items produced by Machine A are defective and 5% produced by Machine B are defective. An item is drawn at random. If the drawn item is defective, find the probability that it was produced by Machine B.

A factory has two machines A and B. Past record shows that machine A produced 60% of the items of output and machine B produced 40% of the items. Further, 2% ol the items produced by machine A and 1% produced by machine B were defective. All the items are put into one stockpile and then one item is chosen at random from this and is found to be defective. What is the probability that it was produced by machine B:

A firm manufactures PVC pipes in three plants viz, X, Y and Z. The daily production volumes from the three firm X, Y and Z are respectively 2000 units, 3000 units and 5000 units. It is known from the past experience that 3% of the output from plant X, 4% from plant Y and 2% from plant Z are defective. A pipe is selected at random from a day's total production (i) find the probability that the selected pipe is defective one. (ii) If the selected pipe is a defective, then what is the probability that it was produced by plant Y ?

A factory has two Machines-I and II. Machines- produces 25% of items and Machine-II produces 75% of the items of the total output. Further 3% of the items produced by Machine-I are defective whereas 4% produced by Machine - Il are defective. If an item is drawn at random what is the probability that it is defective?
