The present age of a perosn is `(1)/(3)` of the present ae of his father. If the sum of their aes is 60 years, then find the age of the son

Let the present age of father be x years
`:.` The present age of the son =`(x)/(3)` years.
Given tha `x+(x)/(3)=60`
`(x)/(1)+(x)/(3)=6rArr(3xxx+1xxx)/(3)=60`
`(3x+x)/(3)=60 rArr(4x)/(3)=60`
`4x=60xx3rArr4x=180`
`x=(180)/(4)`
x=45
`:.` The age of son `=(1)/(3)xx45=15` years
