If a train x, 200 m long, crosses a bridge of length 300 m in 30 s, find the speed of the train (in km/h).

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

To cross the bridge, the distance travelled by the train = 200 m + 300 m = 500 m
Time taken = 30 s
`therefore " Speed of the train " = ("Distance")/("Time") = (500)/(30)`
`=(50)/(30) m//s = (50)/(30) xx (18)/(5)"km/h" = 60 "km/h"`
