People wear cotton clothes to keep themselves cool in summer. Cotton fabric absorbs sweat more due to greateer adhesive forces between cotton and water and allows the sweat to be evaporated at a faster rate. The sweat absorbs heat energy from the body and ge5s evaporated, thys. keeping the body cool.
