Explanation

Naming of acids: Hydracids are named as hydro .....ic acid by including the name of the nonmetal.
Examples: HC1 Hydrrochloric acid
HBr Hydrobromic acid
HI Hydroiodic acid

Oxyacids are named according to the number of oxygen atoms present in the acid. Generally, most of the non-metals form two types of oxyacids. The acid containing less number of oxygen atoms is called 'ous acid'. The acid containing more number of oxygen atoms is called 'ic acid'.
