Uses of magnets .
(i) The directive property of magnet is used in the construction of a magnetic needle and magnetic compass.
(ii) Permanent magnets are used in dynamos, electric motors, generators, electron accelerators, door locks, etc.
(iii) Electromagnets are used widely in electric bells, electric cranes, etc.
(iv) Magnets are used in separating iron particles from solid mixtures using the method of magnetic separation.
(v) Magnetic resonance imagery (MRI) technique, which diagonses diseases uses the principle of magnetism.
(vi) Magnetic trains travel just above the rails due to magnetic leviation. The average speed of the maglev trains is around 500 km `h^(-1)` and they travel without making much noise.
