What is the advantage of distillation over evaporation? Under which conditions, they are preferntially used? Give suitable example.

Both evaporation and sitillation are based on the same principle of vaporization of the liquid component leaving behind the solid component. But, evaporation resutls in the recovery of only the solid component. The liquid component vaporizes and escapes out into the atmospheric air. in case od distillation, the liquid component can also be recovered in addition to the solid component. in case of mixture where the recovery of liquid component is not economically viable, evaporation is a preferred method.
