Can you imagine the world without bacteria?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No, Bacteria are in essential part of the environment as they act as decomposers for the dead plants and animals. As all living beings have a fixed lifespan, th plants and animals die after a certain age. If bacteria are not there in the ecosytem, the dead organisms would be piled up in the environment and the habitats will not be liveable places. Moreover, the dead matter undergoes decay thereby adding minerals to the soil. Thus, the soil becomes suitable for growth of plants. If bacteria are not there, the soil will become unsuitable for the growth of plants. As the survival of all living organisma depens on plants, the world cannot exist without bacteria.
