Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In pitcher plant, the leaf lamina is modified into a pitcher. Apex of the leaf forms the lid and the petiole becomes leaf like and is useful to manu-facture food. When any insect comes into contact with the pitcher, the lid closes suddenly. At the bottom of the pitcher, digestive juices are secreted which digest the animal protein.
