Leaching of sulphide ores such as ZnS,PbS etc., Can be done by treating them with hot aqueous sulphuric acid.
`2ZnS(s)+2H_(2)SO_(4)(aq)+O_(2)(g)to2ZnSO_(4)+2S(s)+H_(2)O`
In this process the insoluble sulphide is converted into soluble and elemental sulphur.
