A gas deviates from ideal behaviour at a high pressure because its molecules `:`

A

have kinetic energy

B

are bound by covalent bonds

C

attract one another

D

show the Tyndall effect.

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

Some attractive forces exist between the molecules of real gases . When a molecule approaches the wall of the container it experiences an inward pull as a result of attractive forces exerted by the observed pressure is less than the ideal pressure and hence gas deviates from ideal behavoiur at high pressure.
