The ratio of heats liberated at 298 K from the combustion of one kg of coke and by burning water gas obtained from kg of coke is (Assume coke to be 100% carbon). (Given enthalpies of combustion of `CO_2`, CO and `H_2` as 393.5 kJ, 285 kJ, 285 kJ respectively at 298 K).

A

`MA_(2)B_(2)` - Tetahedral

B

MABCD - Tetrahedral

C

`MA_(3)B` - Square planar

D

Mabcd - square planar

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Tetrahedral complexes do not show geometrical isomerism because due to symmetrical structure , relative positions of the ligands is same with respect to each other .
Square planar complexes of the type `MA_(3)` do not show geometrical isomerism because the possible sptial arrangements are equivalent . MABCD type planar complexes show three isomeers which can be obtained by fixing the position of one ligand at the trans position one by one .
