The maximum kinetic energy of emitted electrons in a photoelectric effect does not depend upon

A

intensity

B

work function

C

wavelength

D

frequency

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

The maximum kinetic energy `=hv-W_(0)` where hv is the incident energy and `W_(0)` is the energy of extraction . If one increases the intensity for a radiation which produces photoelectricity , there is no change in kinetic energy .
