(i) Rosting : Process of converting an in to its metallic oxide by heating strongly at temperature in sufficient to melt in excess of our it is used for suplhide ores
(ii) Calcination (also referred to as calcinaing) is a thermal treatment process in presence of air or oxygen applied to ores and other solid material,s to bring about thermal decomposition phase transtion or removal of a volatile fraction .The calcination process normally takes place at temperature below the melting point of the product materials . clacination is not the same process as roasting .In roasting more complex gas solid reaction take place between the furnace atmosphere and the solids
