(b) How would you strength account for the following situations?
(i) The acidic strengths of these compound increase in the following order:
`PH_(3)ltH_(2)SltHCI`
(ii)The oxidisting power of oxoacids of chlorine follows the order :
`HCIO_(4)ltHCIO_(3)ltHCIO_(2)ltHCIO`
(iii) In vapour state sulphur exhibits paramagnetic behaviou.

(i) Inb the order of incresing base strength .Bond dissociation energy of GCI is lower than `H_(2)S` which is lower than `PH_(3)` This is due to greater polarity is HCI than `H_(2)S` and `H_(2)S` has more polarity than `PH_(3)` due to large difference in electronegativity
(ii) As the oxidation no of halogenatomi oxacid inreases its oxidising power decrease HCIO is least stable and gives [0] most easily so its oxidising power is greater than `HCIO_(4)`
